In September, the Alteryx Community celebrated its 9th birthday! Let’s keep the party going with highlights and updates from throughout this last month.

Need To Know
This month the Community team delivered a new logged-out landing page that highlights some of our most popular Community programs. We’ve also added a link to Mission Control on the top-level navigation so you can easily access the case portal, knowledge base, and preference center.
The Community and User Group event calendars got an upgrade as well! We enhanced the UX by standardizing functionality like time zones, meeting formatting, and calendar views. Be sure to check them out when you’ve got a moment – there are lots of exciting new events coming up!
Top Solved Discussions
Our discussion boards offer the opportunity to not only get your questions answered, but to learn from each other and help other users advance in their understanding of Alteryx. This month, we had some great examples of the power of our discussion boards & collaboration:
- Web scraping – multiple pages: @Anudeep_Yalamuru tagged some Community experts for help with web scraping and they weighed in! Nice work, @mceleavey, providing a reference blog and then a preliminary workflow to get the solution. And @le_luu, the original blog author, jumped in with helpful advice as well.
- Date Time Format with REGEX: Check out this discussion on reformatting multiple date columns in the most efficient way. Both @OllieClarke and @DataNath demonstrated how to use the multi-field formula tool for this, and then @DataNath went on to answer follow-up questions to provide additional support and get the solution!
- Schedule a report to run every other Monday: @cpet13 came up with a creative workaround for scheduling a report to run every other Monday in Alteryx Server. It’s worth checking out! This solution even earned support in the comments from active Server discussion member @fmvizcaino.
- Simple transpose, how is it done?: This discussion is a great example of how there are always multiple ways to solve a problem, and answering questions can open the door to further learning. @jbichachi003 gave kudos to @alexnajm for their elegant solution. @CoG demonstrated how their custom macro could solve this problem as well (with a video!). Great work all around.

New Content
In September, Alteryx’s own Heather Harris (@ayx_hh) joined the Alter Everything podcast to share insights for advancing your career in data analytics. Learn about telling your value story, building your personal brand, and more in this new episode.
We had some great technical walk-throughs on the Engine Works blog last month. @OllieClarke showed us how to debug errors with the Run Command Tool, @katecrawford demonstrated how to create a useful iterative macro in 11 steps, and @Bobbyt23 gave us a rundown on their Tableau calculation retriever macro. If you want more technical blogs delivered to your inbox, you can subscribe to the Engine Works blog at the bottom of any of these articles!
Conclusion
It was fun to celebrate our birthday with you all! Thanks for reading another monthly installment of the Community highlights blog. Stay awesome!
