A Look at What’s New in Alteryx One This Fall

By Ben Canning, Chief Product Officer at Alteryx

Hi Alteryx Community,

If we haven’t met yet, I’m Ben Canning, Chief Product Officer here at Alteryx. When I first joined earlier this year, I stepped into a company that was in the middle of something big — the launch of Alteryx One, our new unified platform that brings together analytics, AI, and cloud capabilities with enterprise-grade governance and flexibility.

At the heart of that launch, which took place at Inspire in May, was a simple but powerful idea: give every user one place to access, prepare, analyze, and act on data to create insights with both speed and trust. With Alteryx One, teams can connect directly to cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery, automate workflows and apply AI to work smarter, and all within a single, integrated, and trusted environment.

Since then, I’ve been exploring the platform much like many of you do: opening Designer, trying out new tools, testing things in the cloud, and occasionally asking the same why isn’t this working? and “how do I find that again?questions along the way. What’s been most exciting for me is seeing how Alteryx One is already changing the game and helping organizations modernize their analytics, create AI-ready data, and accelerate outcomes with the governance that enterprises require.

And now, with this latest release, we’re taking that vision even further. This update builds on the foundation of Alteryx One to make everyday work faster, bring AI more naturally into your flow, and strengthen trust and control across the platform.

So rather than give you a polished marketing announcement, I thought I’d share a guide to the things in this release that have genuinely caught my attention. I may be the CPO, but I’m also still the new kid here, learning about the platform, testing features, and getting just as excited as you are when things click. My hope is that you’ll come away with a few new features to try, and a case for why Alteryx One and 25.2 are worth the move.

Designer and Server 25.2: AI Innovations and Product Enhancements for Faster, Smarter, and More Intuitive Workflows

One of the first shifts we’re delivering this half is expanded flexibility and productivity across the platform powered by AI and exclusively in 25.2 and Alteryx One. Until now, putting AI to work often meant jumping across systems, copying and pasting into ChatGPT, then trying to stitch results back into your workflow or system. It was disconnected, hard to govern, and often felt like a black box. With Designer 25.2 and on Alteryx One, that changes. Think about all the challenges that used to feel too manual, too inconsistent, or simply too complex to solve at scale. From accelerating analysis to improving data quality, these high-value problems that once took hours—or weren’t attempted at all—are now within reach right inside Designer.

You can now use the LLMs your organization has already invested in, like OpenAI, Gemini, or Anthropic, directly in your workflows through the general availability of the new GenAI tools in Designer. That means seamless integration of AI into the data prep and automation you already run, safely and in a governed way, and at a scale your organization can trust. I’ve already seen this be game-changing for customers in industries like financial services, and I expect it to unlock even more creative use cases across sectors.

LLMs-Create Connection.png

We’ve recently used this new functionality first-hand inside Alteryx with great success. Our own Content Design team was recently tasked with improving about 8,500 Designer error messages. Manually rewriting them would have taken roughly 140 hours. Even uploading the spreadsheet into a custom GPT created more problems than it solved, introducing typos and requiring copy/paste workarounds that still would have taken 23–47 hours. Instead, our internal teams built a workflow using the new prompt tool in the GenAI palette that submitted each message individually to an LLM, ensuring accuracy and compliance without the manual lift. The result: all 8,500 error messages were rewritten in just 3.5 hours. That’s a nearly 4,000% increase in efficiency compared to manual work, and more than a 1,200% gain over the copy/paste workaround. A real-world proof point of how these tools save time, reduce errors, and unlock ROI at scale.

Here are a few other examples of the real-world challenges you can now tackle head-on:

  • Cluster customer feedback into themes without relying on keywords.
  • Normalize messy product or vendor names without lookup tables.
  • Summarize long-form text into structured insights at scale.
  • Transform data to match new schema requirements.
  • Generate synthetic records for safe testing and training.
  • Extract structured values from unstructured fields.
  • Identify high-priority or at-risk records based on meaning, not keywords.

Creating AI-Ready data isn’t just about structured data, but unstructured data too.  And we know how much value can be locked up in unstructured data sources (like PDFs, emails, etc).  That’s why now Intelligence Suite is available to every Alteryx One Full Creator in the Professional and Enterprise editions.

And even more exciting AI news for those teams just getting started with Alteryx, like I was a few months ago: Alteryx Copilot is now generally available as well! And no, I don’t mean Microsoft Copilot, I mean Alteryx Copilot. Copilot is your in-product AI partner in Alteryx One with 25.2 that speeds up onboarding, answers questions in real time, and helps everyone build workflows faster. Many of you have already tried it during our private and public previews over the last year, and your feedback has shaped this GA release into the most powerful version of Alteryx Copilot yet.

What’s got me most excited are all of the new capabilities we’ve added to Copilot in this release that makes it truly a powerful tool for onboarding and solving.

First, data sampling lets Copilot run your workflow and pull in your actual data as added context, with the option to toggle it off if needed. We’ve also enhanced the edit and delete tools to give you more visibility and control while using AI to help build your workflows, paired with clearer insight into Copilot’s thinking and actioning process in chat and on the canvas.

We’ve also added workflow summary, and now, Copilot can automatically generate a description of what your workflow—or even a section of it—is doing. This not only helps with documentation but also improves transparency and communication across your organization, and the payoff is immediate. Workflow Summary not only supports auditing requirements for teams working under SOX compliance by clearly describing every section of a workflow; it helps new users learn faster by identifying the what and the why behind the tools used in someone else’s process. And for those managing large, complex workflows, it makes finding exactly the section you need quick and seamless.

These new GenAI capabilities are laying the groundwork for our agentic analytic future, where intelligent assistants won’t just support you in building workflows, but will proactively orchestrate them, surface insights in context, and help every analyst push the limits of what’s possible.

Beyond these AI innovations, I’m happy to share a few other enhancements to Designer 25.2 that bring you even more reasons to upgrade. One of my favorites is Tool Connection Staples, , a new way to group and organize connections on the canvas. For anyone building complex workflows, this makes it much easier to keep things visually clean and simple to follow.

We’ve also introduced a new canvas experience that lets you insert multiple tools into an existing connection. It may sound small, but it makes everyday workflow edits faster and more flexible, reducing the number of clicks it takes to get things done. This enhancement was based on YOUR community feedback – so keep it coming and we will too!

And on Server, you can now schedule Analytic Apps with preselected answers. That means instead of creating multiple workflows for every variation of app responses, you can run one app in different ways by scheduling multiple jobs off of it. It’s a simple change that eliminates redundant workflows and makes analytic apps far more usable across teams.

Together, these enhancements are about making Alteryx One feel lighter, faster, and more intuitive—so you spend less time managing the mechanics of building workflows and more time getting value from your data, all powered with AI-guided productivity. Enterprise-Grade Governance for Intelligent Analytics

Now, we’ve all been told that AI only delivers real value if you can trust the results. That trust starts with knowing exactly where your data comes from, how it’s being used, and who has access to it. For many organizations, that’s where analytics can slow down—user provisioning; data access, compliance checks, and audits often take more time than the actual analysis. That’s why this release is doubling down on governance.

Governance for Intelligent Analytics.png

With data lineage now built into Alteryx One through our partnerships with leading data catalogs Atlan and Collibra, you get full visibility into the end-to-end journey of your data. This means your enterprise data stewards can easily track the usage of sensitive data across your business and ensure only approved datasets are powering your workflows. At the same time, your data analysts can more confidently build workflows with full visibility into the origin and quality of data and with clear views of any downstream dependencies to reduce the risk of unintended disruption. Data lineage creates high levels of confidence that your organization stays compliant with strict regulatory requirements and that the insights driving decisions can stand up to scrutiny.

Create_Role.png

We’ve also added new ways to give teams the right level of access without slowing anyone down. Custom roles give administrators flexible controls to precisely limit workspace user access to the minimum Alteryx capabilities needed to successfully do their jobs, resulting in lower operational risk for over-permissioned users. Best of all, custom roles easily scales across your enterprise when used in conjunction with the System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) standard. Alteryx One is now compatible with the popular SCIM standard to automate and centralize onboarding and offboarding of workspace members – including assigning new workspace members to pre-defined user groups with the right custom role-based access permissions.

Building on those governance updates, we’ve expanded additional AI controls across Alteryx One to give organizations a clear, multi-level framework for managing AI responsibly. These AI controls provide oversight at every level of your deployment, from account level governance to workspace administration and individual user permissions. This helps IT and analytics leaders align AI access, security, and usage with internal policies.

Custom roles not only manage platform access, but they also now play a deeper role in AI governance. Administrators can use custom roles to control who can connect to large language models and who can run or review AI-assisted analyses. New administrator auditing capabilities also track GenAI activity across Auto Insights, GenAI tools, and Alteryx Copilot, improving visibility and accountability.

Customers can also now connect their own Azure AI LLM instance to Alteryx One and set it as the approved model for Auto Insights, making it easier to maintain compliance and consistency across AI use cases. The result is a unified control framework that helps teams deploy AI securely and scale it with confidence. Support for additional models like Gemini and Anthropic is coming soon.

And finally, I’m excited to share that we’ve been working to streamline the administrative experience with a variety of updates designed to minimize the risk of human error and reduce the workload on IT. New in-app notifications help users stay informed when assets are shared or plan jobs complete, improving efficiency and keeping teams connected. Additional updates are coming later this quarter to enable auto-provisioning across your entire Alteryx account. We are also taking steps to automate the host recovery process, a critical process during Server upgrades, with a new Python script available now on the Alteryx downloads site to simplify and improve the upgrade experience. And to take things further, enhanced audit logging makes it easier to see how Alteryx is being used across your organization, giving you clarity when you need it most.

All of this adds up to a simple truth: governance isn’t about slowing things down. It’s about building enough trust in your data, your AI, and your processes that your teams can move faster, without the second-guessing, rework, or risk.

Cloud Connectivity Without Compromise

Finally, I know, I know — but I told you there was a lot of exciting goodness to share. This release also makes working with your cloud data simpler and faster than ever.

Too often, analysts still find themselves pulling data out of the cloud, creating copies, and wrestling with versioning issues, not to mention the time and cost of data egress. That process doesn’t just slow down analysis, it creates governance headaches and undermines the value of your organization’s existing cloud investments.

With this release, we’re closing that gap. LiveQuery in Designer Cloud is now generally available for Snowflake, giving you a secure access layer that queries data in place, directly within the Cloud Data Platform (CDP).

Analysts get the efficiency of working on live data without creating costly duplicates, while organizations maximize the compute power they’ve already invested in. It’s faster, more secure, and more aligned with modern hyperscaler strategies.

We are also making it easier for you to transact Alteryx directly through these strategic hyperscalers. Alteryx One is now available for purchase directly through a private offer on the AWS marketplace with the GCP marketplace coming soon! This means Alteryx adoption is easier than ever before to get the powerful analytics support you need with fewer barriers to entry.

Connectivity is simpler too. Our new Google Drive and Sharepoint connectors deliver a unified setup experience across Designer Desktop and Designer Cloud. This gives users a consistent way to access data while admins centrally manage connections with cleaner policies and marketplace-managed listings. Google Drive is available now in public preview while the Sharepoint preview is coming by end of year!

Our teams have also doubled down on the performance of our Databricks and Starburst connectors. The Write Data in-database tool now supports upsert operations for Databricks, allowing you to insert or update records in place for more flexible pipelines. AND, the new Starburst bulk data loading capabilities cuts processing times from hours to minutes, turning what used to be overnight jobs into near real-time results.

For organizations already investing heavily in the cloud, these updates don’t just reduce friction, they amplify the ROI of the infrastructure you already have, while empowering analysts with direct, governed access to the source of truth.

More Value, Built In

All of the innovations in this latest release are possible because of Alteryx One. We designed it to make things simpler: easier access to analytics & AI capabilities, flexible deployment across desktop, hybrid, and cloud, and a single license that covers it all.

Alteryx One extends the foundation that our customers have built into the future, making them well-equipped to deal with ongoing digital transformation, AI urgency, and complex data ecosystems.  With Alteryx One, the benefits are
