How is it already May? April might have felt like an entire year, but it's pretty wild that we're quickly approaching summer and halfway through 2020! Take a look at what we did on the community in April:
Alteryx For Good space
ADAPT Program
We're proud to announce the ADAPT Program - which is a program built to upskill individuals whose employment status has been impacted by COVID-19. If you've been impacted, or know someone who has, send them to the ADAPT space in the community to get started! Check out the ADAPT FAQ's or ask a question if you need any help!
Profile Improvements
@jamielaird created an idea suggesting that we add more options to personalize your profile on the Alteryx community. We're happy to announce that Phase 1 has been delivered. Fill out your Personal Settings and Social Media Settings if you'd like to share more about yourself on your profile! Note - if you enter any information in these fields it will be public. With this release, the following items will now show up on your profile if they are filled out:
Title
Location
Podcast
Be sure to subscribe to the release notes be notified of additional profile improvements as they are released. Thanks again for sharing your idea!
Change Usernames
We're all about self-service so you can own your profile. We've deployed a change so that you can now modify your username. To do so, click on your avatar on the top right, click "My Settings", and you should be directed to the correct tab (Personal > Username). Change your name and save! As a reminder, emails are not allowed as usernames. Usernames are also public and searchable by both the community search and Google - so please choose your username accordingly.
Academy - Reporting in Designer
One of the most requested training topics we are asked about is the Reporting tool palette. With rich, practical functionality, it’s understandable that these are some of the most widely used tools in Designer. They also show up on the Advanced Certification exam, which might lead to a few more requests. Regardless of whether you want to use them to showcase your analysis & share those results with the rest of your organization or you just need to know them to achieve the coveted certification, the new Reporting in Designer course can help you to get more familiar with the Reporting tools.
The new lessons cover the most commonly used Reporting tools which include:
- an introduction to snippets
- the Table tool
- the Report Map tool
- the Interactive Chart tool
- the Report Text tool
- the Layout tool
- the Report Header and Report Footer tools
- and the Render tool
Head to the Academy Interactive Lessons page to check them out!
Miscellaneous Bug Fixes and Updates
- Added tooltips to profile settings
- Resolved an issue with incorrect breadcrumbs
- Fixed an issue with Interactive Lessons not loading in IE
- Addressed a bug where certain file types could not be uploaded
- Added text below the CTA's on the landing page for clarity
Feedback
Please keep the feedback coming by submitting a community-related idea! If you run into a platform bug, you can also submit a ticket by filling out a community bug report or bookmarking https://tinyurl.com/alteryxcommunity.
