It’s been an exciting week here at Alteryx. One of the highlights was a Directions Magazine webinar with Marcy Cautreels, Manager of the Strategic Analytics team at automotive industry leader TBC Corporation. Never heard of TBC? I bet you have. They’re the folks behind Midas, SpeeDee Oil Change, Tire Kingdom, NTB, and Big O Tires. Not to mention the neighborhood stores and regional tire chains that buy from their wholesale business.

 

With over 2,700 franchised and company-operated tire and automotive service centers, TBC found itself increasingly challenged providing analytics that range from where to open or franchise new locations, down to what specific services and products would work best in hyper-local promotions. Like many line-of-business analytic teams, the analysts on Marcy’s team were working with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, VBA programs as well some limited visualization tools. The result was a very manual process, and analysts were often forced to create custom trade areas and point-to-point distances as they lacked the tools they needed to do fast/automated spatial analytics, not just visualization.

 

Enter Alteryx.
