Alteryx Designer Cloud
This month in Designer Cloud we’re happy to release new enhancements to the Data Quality Bar, along with Data Cleansing Suggestions and Leading & Trailing Whitespace Identification.
When working with messy data, users will notice that the data quality bar now contains a new "Not Ok" section, which will notify them of the number of Not Ok, Ok, Empty, and Null values.
This gives users the ability to assess the health of their dataset with a single glance, immediately noting potential issues within individual columns.
But we didn’t stop there. The whole point of identifying data quality issues is to allow you to quickly resolve them. So, to make it easier to fix any issues that might come up, we’ve added new data cleansing suggestions. By clicking on the dirty data from within the Data Quality Bar, users will now also see suggestions that they can apply with just a few clicks to instantly clean things up.
One dirty data issue we see coming up quite frequently is analysis that is hindered by those pesky leading or trailing whitespaces. As a result, we’ve now added a new feature to automatically identify leading & trailing whitespaces, which will be automatically highlighted with a red triangle. Once identified, it just takes a few clicks to eliminate them using the three-dot menu.
Additionally, we’ve squashed several bugs and released several more minor features. To see them all, be sure to check out our release notes.
Alteryx Auto Insights
Until now, Alteryx Auto Insights has required a time series column in a dataset – a column with a date / time field. As of 12th June, Alteryx Auto Insights supports the ingestion and analysis of non-time series datasets. As a result, users will be able to perform analysis on datasets that are not time-based in nature. The key benefit to our customers with this latest release isthat users are now able to address additional non-time series use cases in the product.
