First, a short introduction: My name is Paul Ross, and I've recently joined Alteryx as Vice President of Product and Industry Marketing. I'm responsible for helping our #awesome Alteryx employees communicate how we can make a difference to our customers' organizations. But back to the news at hand. As you may have seen, Alteryx has been positioned in the BI Platform Magic Quadrant for the first time in our history. This is a major milestone for our company, but is mostly a reflection of the incredible work that the users of our software do every day.

 

This validation matters. The role of the Data Artisan in ensuring that organizations can make strategic decisions has never been more important. The range and size of data sources-from cloud data to trusted 3rd party spatial or demographic data-that must be brought together to meet the needs of the modern decision maker is incredible; it's all about unifying the critical data that drives strategic decisions. At the same time, the speed of business requires rapid but deep analytic iteration to ensure the right decisions are made at the right times. Alteryx users are conquering these challenges every day, which is highlighted in the Gartner report.

 

Our customers are driving a revolution in strategic analytics. Data artisans recognize some important realities:

 

  • Analytic insight is not the domain of a few super data scientists
  • Strategic decisions can't wait 12 months for a statistical model
  • The traditional stack of business intelligence technologies just can't handle the realities of the hybrid cloud enterprise fast enough or cost effectively enough
