If you haven’t heard about the coolest analytics conference, it’s Inspire 2016, and it will take place in San Diego, June 6-9, 2016. Trust me when I tell you, if you join us, you'll Get.Inspire.Lucky.
Some say bad luck comes in threes, but in this case the only bad luck you’ll face is if you don’t join the brightest analysts and business leaders at Inspire 2016. Your luck will start when you read my series of three blog posts, each of which highlights three exciting, new experiences available Only.At.Inspire; and ensures you this year’s conference is not to be missed. If you haven’t registered for Inspire 2016 yet, you can do so here.
The first blog of the series discusses our amazing Alteryx executive keynotes. If your goal is to become an essential part of your organization, learn from some of the best - Dean, George, Libby and Ned. Give it a read here. The second blog of the series summarizes some new aspects of the conference that are definitely worth getting.jazzed.about, from our off-site party on the USS Midway, to our first-ever Alteryx ACE panel session, and last but not least, the Alteryx Community Hub, which will feature pop-up demos, periscope interviews, contests, and a ton more cool surprises that the Alteryx Community team has in store for you.
Maybe you’re wondering, what’s blog three, Beth? What else can be Only.At.Inspire? Not to fear, friends, I started this blog off talking about how in this case three is a lucky number, so it’s only appropriate for me to knock your socks off and help you Get.Inspire.Lucky! The following three things are all lucky, all fun, and can most certainly be found Only.At.Inspire.
First Ever Alteryx Inspire Community FUN Run!!
Despite this string of three blogs, all of which have three reasons to attend Inspire 2016, all because three can be a lucky number…I wouldn’t consider myself an overly superstitious person. That said, a lot of people have lucky socks – lucky socks they wear when they have a big presentation at the office, lucky socks they put on for a big game, lucky socks they wear to run – and finish – a triathlon or a marathon (who doesn’t need lucky socks for 26.2 miles?) Big news – we’re giving away lucky.Alteryx.socks! You can get details here, and just because they’re lucky doesn’t mean we’ll share them willy nilly! These socks need to be earned, and you can earn yourself a lucky pair if you participate in the first ever Alteryx Inspire Community Fun Run, which will take place Tuesday, June 7, at 6 a.m., along the lovely San Diego bay. Why socks, you may ask? Because they’re lucky, of course, but also because ‘no matter how fast you run, Alteryx always runs faster’! (Thank you, @TaraM!)
Chief Strategy Officer, Entrepreneur & Subject of Moneyball, Paul DePodesta
My dad is a baseball fan, so I grew up watching the game. There’s a lot of superstition in baseball: eating the same food before a game, not stepping on the foul lines, performing the same routine when you step up to bat, and having a.lucky.charm. One lucky charm in MLB has been Paul DePodesta, though what he delivered to the Oakland A’s, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the New York Mets, and the San Diego Padres is far from ‘luck’. He made his career delivering a unique, data-driven approach to player performance, evaluating, measuring and assigning value to talent - the exact opposite of luck. But he revolutionized the way baseball teams are built, and continues to tackle challenges across industries with his unique approach. He crossed over to healthcare when he joined the Scripps Translational Science Institute at the end of 2015, and is leading a team in finding innovative ways to analyze medical data. Most recently, he made news when he joined the Cleveland Browns as Chief Strategy Officer. Browns fans need all the luck they can get – but their time may be coming. They may have made the best pick of all right before this year’s NFL draft by hiring DePodesta away from the defending NL champion Mets. Of course, you’re.getting.lucky, because DePodesta is our guest keynote speaker on Wednesday afternoon. Join us to learn more about his transition from MLB, to healthcare, to the NFL - Only.At.Inspire.
Alteryx Analytics Excellence Awards
Luck often comes up when folks play the lottery – “Ah, I’ll take a chance, who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky and win the jackpot!” Well, we’ve got our own jackpot at Inspire and it’s called the Alteryx Analytics Excellence Awards. We are constantly impressed with the amazing things our customers do with our software, and want to recognize and celebrate some of the best Alteryx success stories. With the Analytics Excellence Awards, which are part of our Alteryx for Good program, we are not only selecting the lucky winners, those winners will select recipients from an amazing list of charities who will split $100,000 equally. Talk.about.luck, and maybe a little self-service data analytics. Either way, award recipients will be announced Only.At.Inspire
New and lucky experiences await for customers, prospects, partners, and employees alike at Inspire 2016, from 20-plus new customer speakers who are excited to share their never before heard use cases, to hands-on product training featuring several new courses, to the expanded Solutions Center, and the Alteryx Technology track which will cover all the new features of Alteryx.
