Salesforce.com recently announced their arrival into the world of Analytics with their Analytics Cloud offering WAVE. Salesforce.com has had a huge impacton how organizations understand their customers, so logically incorporating their expertise into a more impactful world of Customer Analytics does make sense. I fully expect them to become a great source of insight.

The reality is the biggest opportunity for this insight lies in empowering analysts in the line of business, such as marketing or sales, to get access to the data they need, when they need it; - then enabling them to make smarter more informed decisions on that data through implementing advanced analytics. This is where Alteryx can excel in giving data analysts access to all of the relevant data that they need, whether it is through connectors for pulling and pushing data from and back into Salesforce.com, social media connectors, or the inclusion of third-party data for data enrichment.  All of this is in an intuitive drag and drop workflow environment that doesn’t require any coding or IT intervention.

We look forward to working with WAVE and the Salesforce.com team in the future to ensure that all analysts get the value it provides in their hands alongside Excel, Oracle and all other analyst tools. In addition, data needed for more impactful Customer Analytics doesn’t always live in Salesforce.com. Only by being able to combine data coming from Marketing Automation systems or Social Media tools with your CRM data to understand sentiment of customers, enrich that with third-party data, will you then truly be able to perform the most comprehensive Customer Analytics possible.

Finally, incorporating advanced analytics, like predictive and spatial, allows the user to understand where your current and future prospects are, and whether or not they will respond to your offering.  It is areas like these, where Alteryx can excel and enhance the Salesforce.com experience.  The power to implement advanced data blending at the analysts’level will make analyzing data not only inside Salesforce.com, but also outside of Salesforce.com, more impactful for departments such as sales and marketing.
