Alteryx recently surveyed hundreds of data analysts and business leaders across multiple industries on how they leverage their data. 52% have to use too many tools and processes to get that data. The survey uncovered that not having the right data for analytics can cause a material impact on organizational success. There were a lot of other interesting statistics, so we have created a visual whitepaper to highlight the business impacts and areas that analysts struggle when it comes to analytics.

Every analyst knows that the key to analytics starts with the data, and amazingly enough, according to the survey the biggest challenge facing analysts is accessing the right data quickly enough. This stems from the fact that 52% have to use too many tools and processes to get that data. Another question shows that 37% have to wait for another department to get the data and 30% can’t even get access to the data.

Over 40% of the analysts say they use between 5-10 sources of data and still another 31% use 2-4 sources of data. You can imagine what kind of impact this has for an analyst within areas like marketing, operations and sales - affecting programs, campaigns and even revenue numbers. What makes this even more of a struggle, is the fact that the data sources these analysts are dealing with are rarely in one place. Over 40% of the analysts say they use between 5-10 sources of data and still another 31% use 2-4 sources of data.

These are just a couple of the highlights that the survey outlines. Click here to get a full glimpse into all of the challenges that analysts are facing with their lack of data blending capabilities.
