National Trust WebinarI am very excited to have Dean Jones, Head of Data Science and Stephen Lindsay, Senior Data Scientist from The National Trust joining me in a little over a week (Tuesday, May 26, 2015) for a webinar on how they are able to leverage the combination of Amazon Redshift, Alteryx and Tableau to improve data driven decisions.

 

The National Trust owns many heritage properties, including historic houses and gardens, industrial monuments and social history sites. It is one of the largest landowners in the United Kingdom, owning many beauty spots, most of which are open to the public free of charge. It is the largest membership organization in the United Kingdom, and one of the largest UK charities by both income and assets. As you can imagine they deal with a lot of data which is scattered throughout the organization in different data sources such as donation lists, membership subscriptions, and transaction data.

 

The Trust wanted to get a better understanding and gain a more granular view of their patrons and drive intelligent, informed decisions. This webinar will highlight how they consolidate data into Redshift, use Alteryx to build workflows to blend data from multiple sources and integrate predictive analytics. Then they use Tableau to incorporate things like visualizations and model creation/evaluation into these workflows. This should be a great webinar and use case around how organizations are getting so much value from these combined platforms.
