Server 2020.1: New Year, new focus, new paths!

Hi everyone! We here at Alteryx are ringing in the new year with a new release, and we’ve got some exciting news about it!

The 2020.1 Server release is the first release after a massive quality focus: addressing defects, removing outdated code, and splitting out features that are only intended for the Public Gallery. This means that the product’s stability is greatly improved, and we can start developing new and exciting functionality for you even faster.

Before Upgrading

Overall, this should be a seamless experience for our Server users. However, there are some slight changes that should be noted before upgrading to the newest version. Two file paths have been adjusted, improving organization and system consistency.

Configuration files are in a new location:

Original – C:\Program Files\Alteryx\bin\config

With 2020.1 – C:\Program Files\Alteryx\bin\server\config

The webroot has also changed:

Original – C:\Program Files\Alteryx\bin\RuntimeData\gallery

With 2020.1 – C:\Program Files\Alteryx\bin\RuntimeData\server

In the coming year, we will continue to make advanced announcements regarding changes to Server that could impact your administration process. We are working dedicatedly to make the product the best it can be, so keep an eye out for announcements!
