With the release of 2018.1, Alteryx delivers increased analytic flexibility for users and builds on our great partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The new Amazon Athena and Redshift Spectrum connections through the Input and Output tools further empower Alteryx users to harness the full value of their existing analytics architecture and emerging big data assets.

The Amazon Athena connection allows users to read and write (Bulk Loader is also an available option for performance) to Athena, making it easy for users to query their AWS data instantly for analytics. Amazon Athena is a server less, interactive query service that makes it easy to analyze big data in Amazon S3 using standard SQL.

The Amazon Redshift Spectrum connection also allows for both reading and writing (Bulk Loader is also an available option for performance). Amazon Redshift Spectrum enables users to quickly run Amazon Redshift SQL queries against exabytes of data in Amazon S3. Redshift Spectrum extends the analytic power of Amazon Redshift beyond data stored in the Redshift data warehouse to query the unstructured data Amazon S3 - without having to load or transform any data.

The new AWS connections add analytic flexibility for users and build upon the previously released connections for AWS – Amazon AuroraAmazon Redshift, and Amazon S3. Alteryx 2018.1 continues to push the analytics needle by making working with data much easier - regardless of where it's from, what shape it's in, or where it needs to go.

Upgrade to 2018.1 if you are already an Alteryx user (or try it out for free if you are new to Alteryx) to experience these new features and others for yourself.
