Tuesday, the first day of the Data Analyst track brought a variety of use cases from different industries. On Wednesday, the sessions continued much of the same, but also highlighted some great partnerships we have within the Alteryx community. Some of the highlights of these sessions:

  • Charles Coleman from The Home Depot discussed how using Alteryx macros and scripts, they are able to combine and transform point of sale data from nearly 2,000 stores nationwide, and run store performance routines in 1.5 percent of the time it previously took, accomplishing what once took two weeks or more, in under an hour.

  • Nikolay Stoychev of easyJet showed some great use cases of how they are using Alteryx and Tableau to process and analyze a wide range of unstructured flight data through an array of dashboards and visualizations.

  • Naveen Jain, First Tech Federal Credit Union and Manju Devadas of Pluto7 showed how they are using data blending and predictive analytics in Alteryx to create a lifetime value model to evaluate new customers, and display the results in Tableau.

  • Anna Kirkland Smith from BB&T highlighted how she was able to use the fuzzy matching capabilities in Alteryx to reduce the processing time from 3+ months in SQL down to 5 hours in Alteryx

  • Thomas Welgemoed of Accenture was the grand finale for the Data Analyst track and he highlighted how Alteryx is the engine behind the scenes for the 6 Nations Rugby Championship. He explained how Alteryx processes pre-match, in-match, and post-match data throughout the tournament, which is then displayed in a Qlik® dashboard or a Tableau visualization.

Tuesday, day two of the Data Analyst track sessions once again didn't disappoint and I had an amazing time learning from some truly great Alteryx users from a wide variety of industries and users of all different levels. As we start to close out Inspire 2015 all I can start thinking about is how Alteryx has truly changed the way organizations are able to do business and the mind boggling thing is some of these organizations are just starting to tap into the potential of Alteryx.

I can't wait to see what is in store for Inspire 2016.
