Over the past few years, over 350 companies have begun using Alteryx with Tableau. And it is easy to see why – Alteryx provides a linear workflow for preparing data, and Tableau provides a canvas for exploring and interpreting data. The Alteryx approach to data preparation enables companies to move from spending 80% of their time preparing data to spending 80% of their time visualizing it.

It comes as no surprise that there are many presenters at the conference that will be sharing how they use Alteryx and Tableau together. Here are a few examples.

Werner Enterprises

Werner EnterprisesWerner EnterprisesWerner has been using Tableau and Alteryx for over two years now for transportation, call center, and safety violation analytics. Jeff Walters’ team took a report used to identify issues that can prevent revenue from being accrued. Using Alteryx and Tableau, they rebuilt the report in a couple of days, increasing engagement and views 700%, decreasing open items and enabling Werner to collect an additional million dollars monthly. Jeff will show how they have created their analytics practice, how they visualize the data, and how they are broadening their analytics practice to address new questions.

easyJeteasyJetPaul Chapman of easyJet was introduced to Alteryx by The Information Lab. You can read more about easyJet’s use of Alteryx and Tableau in this article from diginomica. easyJet is using Alteryx and Tableau to analyze each route and visualize which flights are selling what seats and where, enabling easyJet to optimize its seat allocation strategy. This session will also focus on their rollout strategy and how they are driving internal adoption of Tableau.

The Home Depot

The Home DepotThe Home DepotCharles Coleman of The Home Depot presented at the Alteryx Inspire Conference  back in May. He talked in that session about how he was able to add Alteryx to their Tableau practice. He went into his boss’s office and showed his boss how process used to take a few days to run was now taking 34 seconds. It was a fast decision to buy Alteryx.

Alteryx allows Home Depot to process all of the analytics with near frictionless speed. What used to take 2 weeks prior to using Alteryx covering just 5% of merchandize now runs 10 times a day, covering 100% of merchandise allowing them to double the margins of each store analyzed. In the first 6 months of deploying Alteryx for merchandise optimization, they point to huge performance improvements including a 2 to 4% lift to top line sales, which currently is $76 billion a year.

Another side benefit – Charles won Employee of the Year for his work in Assortment Planning and Merchandising. And said he loves Alteryx because it helps him point all the arrows UP!

One other session to note is a panel that will consist of joint Alteryx/Tableau customers, including Tableau Zen Master Joe Mako of Rosenblatt Securities, Wendy Gradek of EMC, and Paul Chapman of easyJet. This session will focus on the evolution of Tableau at their organizations, and how the use of Tableau and Alteryx has impacted their role in the organization.
