For years Alteryx has been the go-to data analytics platform for line-of-business users who need to prep, blend, and analyze data for rapid insights. Our repeatable workflow for analytics allows them to easily connect to and cleanse data from data warehouses, cloud applications, spreadsheets, and all of today’s most popular sources, then easily join and analyze data using the same intuitive user interface. This approach overcomes the limitations of data manipulation using spreadsheets and legacy BI tools – allowing them to be more efficient, empowered, and rewarded.

The deluge of analysts seeking platforms that enable self-service analytics has seismically altered the analytics platforms infrastructure. According to Gartner, “In the case of the modern BI and analytics platform market, buying decisions are now being made, or heavily influenced, primarily by business users that demand easy-to-use and easy-to-buy products that deliver clear business value and enable powerful analytics with limited technical expertise without required up-front involvement from IT."1

Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics PlatformsAlteryx is at the forefront of this self-service data analytics movement, and I believe that is why Gartner has positioned Alteryx highest in ‘Ability to Execute’ in the 'Visionaries' quadrant in their newly redefined 2016 Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms.

The exponential growth of customers using Alteryx, which encompasses leading global brands (including 20 out of 30 of the top Fortune 500 companies in the US2), as well as small to midsized organizations, is a testament to our ability to meet the growing self-service analytics needs of the business analyst. Our customer renewal rate of over 95% is validation that our platform continues to be a core component of the data analytics process. And, our strong partnerships with all of this year’s Magic Quadrant leaders – Tableau, Qlik, and Microsoft – demonstrates that our powerful self-service data analytics competency is key in complementing their data visualization capabilities.

The placement of vendors within the Magic Quadrant is influenced by direct feedback from analytics professionals to Gartner about several critical factors, including ease of use, ability to handle complex analysis, and overall customer experience. I believe our placement in the ‘Visionaries’ quadrant in this highly competitive Magic Quadrant demonstrates that Alteryx excels in all of these areas. We have a firm understanding of the market and technology landscape (and how it is evolving), plus deep and long-standing relationships with the line-of-business users who are making the greatest contributions in their organizations today.

This knowledge and understanding directly translates an analytics experience that is unrivaled in the industry. I’ve extremely proud of what we’ve built to serve the needs of line-of-business analysts, and look forward to driving this generational shift towards self-service analytics.

Thanks @GeorgeM for this great news, but also a bigger thanks for guiding our way there.  It is an honor to have been named an ACE this year and to help represent a company and product that I have such confidence and admiration towards.  See you at #Inspire2016.

Awesome job on having a "single product" on both advanced analytics and BI magic quadrants... I'm aware that we can do some level of data quality and data integration jobs on Alteryx but do you have any plans on targeting relevant reports, especially the data quality magic quadrant?

Thanks for the great question. We've internally discussed that approach for the last few years.  To date, we've stayed away from positioning ourselves in either the Data Quality or Data Integration MQs as they are far less focused on self-service data analytics. We do chat with Gartner about this on a semi-regular basis. Still makes sense for us to be on the analytics-focused MQs.
