Server notifications - failed jobs

It would be very useful to have a standardized method to set up notifications to the server admins and to the job owner themselves if an alteryx canvas fails (error).

My understanding is that currently the only way to do notifications on failure for every canvas is for every canvas to individually set up events.   On a large implementation, this becomes very difficult to manage.

Hello!

This idea is being updated to Under Review as our Server product team is currently looking into how best to address improvements to the notifications system as a whole. This idea is one that is being considered and I'll update this idea again once we have a greater insight into how, when and if we can update the notification on Server.

Totally agree, @SeanAdams !  You can write a process to investigate this in mongo, and we've done it, but at this point you are dependent on the database structure / product not changing.  The out of the box tableau dashboard on server runs is OK, but again, doesn't really work well if you have a few hundred workflows and relies of your developers logging into Tableau to see what might have failed.  We have also tried getting Alteryx logs into splunk for this kind of thing, but you don't get ownership information in those.

This feature is an absolute must have!

Thank you for your feedback!

This is an interesting idea to our product team, however we're unable to include it on the near term roadmap due to a number of factors. Our product team would like to keep this idea in mind however for future roadmap planning and Server enhancements. We'll do our best to update this idea in the future when our product team is able to reevaluate this idea for roadmap inclusion.
