TCPE-30/TGAL-6039: Unable to Change Collection Owner

Issue

Collection owners are unable to be changed. When clicking on the Change Owner button, the Change Owner window comes up, but upon clicking on the drop down, the window disappears and users are redirected to a blank gallery screen.

Environment Details

  • Alteryx Server 
    • 2020.4 to 2021.4


Cause

Known product defect TCPE-30/TGAL-6039. This issue occurs when there are gallery users that have been removed from Active Directory.

Resolution

Defect TCPE-30/TGAL-6039 has been fixed in the Server 2022.1.1.25127 release. 
 

Workaround:

Update the role to 'No Access' for those users who have been removed from Active Directory.

The gallery logs sometimes help determine which users these are by logging an error containing the following: 
...System.Security.Principal.IdentityNotMappedException: Some or all identity references could not be translated
...Cannot Find user with SID <SID>
