Jobs in Scheduler show as running after job completion

Environment Details

In some cases jobs will show in Scheduler in Designer and Scheduler as running even after job completion.

Cause

This issue typically happens when the Designer and Scheduler is machine overutilized, i.e. too many jobs running or too many applications running on the machine.

Resolution

As a best practice a Designer and Scheduler machine should be dedicated and should not run other resource intensive applications for instance databases etc.

Additionally, make sure 

• The machine is within the respective system requirements for Designer and Scheduler.
• To follow the recommendations for Default sort/join memory (in Server 2020.4+ this is referred to as memory limit") and number of simultaneous workflows as explained in the following knowledge article as a starting point.
