DE27308: Admin Page Login Fails for SAML-Authenticated Users Using Chrome 89 or Firefox 81

Environment Details

Admin Users on a SAML-Authenticated Gallery are having issues connecting to the Admin page as they are presented with a login screen and failed authentication when they try to log in from Chrome browser version 89 or Firefox version 81.
 

• Alteryx Server
  • Versions: 2020.1, 2020.2, 2020.3
• Chrome Browser
  • Version 89+
• Firefox Browser
  • Version 81+

Cause

Product Defect DE27308.

Resolution

Solution

Download and install the latest version of Alteryx from the Alteryx downloads page. 
DE27308 has been fixed in version 2020.4.

"This issue affects Firefox 81 and newer and Chrome/Chromium 89 and newer (includes Edge and other Chromium-based browsers). Upgrading to 2020.4 or higher will resolve the issue."

 

Workaround

1. Log into Private Gallery first 
2. Copy into a new tab (https or) http://<gallery_host>/gallery/admin/#!diagnostics
3. Bookmark (https or) http://<gallery_host>/gallery/admin/#!diagnostics for future use with Chrome 89.

Note:  Copying http://<gallery_host>/gallery/admin (without the /#!diagnostics part) will not work and will still prompt for login.

If you are still being prompted to the login page also try this:

1. Log into the Private Gallery first
2. Copy into the same tab (https or) http://<gallery_host>/gallery/admin/#!diagnostics
