Submission GuidelinesHello all,
This may be a little controversial. As of today, when you buy an Alteryx Server, the basic package covers up to 4 cores :
https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Server-Knowledge-Base/How-Alteryx-defines-cores-for-licensing-our-products/ta-p/158030
I have always known that. But these last years, the technology, the world has evolved. Especially the number of cores in a server. As an example, AMD Epyc CPU for server begin at 8 cores :
https://www.amd.com/en/processors/epyc-7002-series
So the idea is to update the number of cores in initial package for 8 or even 16 cores. It would :
-make Alteryx more competitive
-cost only very few money
-end some user frustration
Moreover, Alteryx Server Additional Capacity license should be 4 cores.
Best regards,
Simon
When building a complicated or resource heavy workflow, it would really useful to be able to have menu option upon right-clicking a tool output to add all the downstream steps to a container. With that one option, a user could then
Hello,
Current Data Connections options are limited to db connections: MSSQL, Oracle and Others.
In my opinion, it should be expanded by at least:
- FTP/SFTP addresses
- URLs to webservices or resources
- Cloud resources like AWS S3
The server should manage resources as much as possible

Gallery Devs -
When I click 'Add Tags' to an application in Gallery, the tag listing comes up chronologically by time time created, as opposed to alphabetically. It looks ridiculous to see this:
Underwear
Shoes
Dresses
Bandannas
Socks
Jewelry
This is the easiest fix ever.
When user execute workflow from library, it is better to show workflow with execution status at each step.
It will help for business to identify the failed tool instead of validating entire workflow.
As you can see from the screen shot below, “Version 10” is my latest version, but I’ve selected “Version 9” to be the published version. When I hit “Run” or when I schedule a run, it is running version 10 instead of version 9. The only way for me to run version 9 is to click on it and select “Run Selected Version” (also in screen shot below).
This doesn’t seem logical to me that the runs are not using the published version. Would love to see this setting changed! :)
Whilst executing long running jobs in Gallery, it would be useful to be able to view the log so I can judge progress.
A suggestion, in our environment, we see workflows getting into Initializing Status often in scheduler (this could be because of the environment we are in)
If workflow in “Initializing” Status > n minutes (where n is configurable)
Then
Kill the workflow, and resubmit

Currently 'Schedules' are a separate category in the navigation bar on the left, and while it is nice to have an overview of all my workflows/apps, most of the time I need that information in the Private Studio screen where I'm checking in on the run status and getting ready to schedule the job again.
Additionally, Designer disables the schedule whenever it saves the workflow/app back to the Server. This is not always the desired intent when we make a small change to the workflow/app. Having an option to disable a current schedule would be better, with the default to keep the current schedule. Also, the abilty to manage the schedule from the Private Studio to say 'Activate' a disabled schedule, or schedule the workflow/app multiple times with different inputs would all be good.
A strange issue is found that the Alteryx Gallery schedule suddenly becomes disabled. After checking with support, it looks like the mechanism underlying is using a concept of queueID. Whenever there is a network issue between controller and worker, the queueID get scratched, the job gets corrupted. This means it cannot calculate the next run and thus, it will disable the schedule. When the worker node gets back, it cannot "try again".
From usage perspective, if network is having issue, it is assumed that the connection gets back, it would "re-try" and resume.
Hope Alteryx team can help consider a fix on this technical issue.
Thanks.
When a workflow is error, there have no output show in the result page. even it success saved the file.
However, sometime I output some check file (where something need to update).
current option: save to somewhere else (like networkdrive or sharepoint), so user can find the file
for download only, it required to proper handle all the errors. because any error will cause download file option not show.
Where error it caused by some missing or any reason, and that why i need to output file to let user to update it somewhere.
suggestion: I wish it always show the output options even it have error.
so i can just create a message tool to raise error for detail reason and let them download the file for checking.
Hello Alteryx Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I would like to propose a utility enhancement for Alteryx Server, particularly at the enterprise level. It would be extremely beneficial to have a workflow-based utility that can be configured for any licensed environment to perform scheduled backups and similarly facilitate the restore process.
Currently, the restore process is quite tedious and heavily reliant on the Server Host Recovery Guide. Post-recovery, we often encounter multiple errors, especially related to connections and add-ons, which makes real-time disaster recovery (DR) environments difficult to manage and unreliable.
While PowerShell scripts can be developed to assist with recovery, they still require significant manual intervention and troubleshooting. A built-in utility would greatly simplify the administrator's job and improve the robustness of DR strategies.
I kindly request the Alteryx internal development team to consider this feature request. I also encourage community admins and users to vote for this suggestion so it can gain visibility and traction.

Hi all,
actually there is the possibility to delete a workflow on the gallery which has an active schedule in the background.
This has the impact that the schedule site is not available for anybody in the respective company and nobody is able to check their schedulelist.
Possible solution:
Implement a check, which tests if there exists an active workflow and inform the user that it is not possible to delete an "in use"-workflow.
Also show a link in the information window to the schedule that the user gets the possibility to delete the schedule.

Our organization heavily leverages Active Directory for all data connections. We manage access to Alteryx Gallery Collections by Active Directory. If I want to use DCM, and share the connection, I can only specify an individual or a custom group of individuals. This is against our efforts to manage security and access usingDCM Active Directory. It would be incredibly beneficial for Alteryx DCM to support connection sharing using Active Directory. Another alternative would be to allow active directory groups to be added to custom user groups.
I did not find a better category, but this issue relates to Data Connection Manager and credential setup with key files in a Server and Desktop environment.
Issue: When using key file credentials in DCM a Key File Path needs to be specified. This path cannot be a UNC or Mapped drive, has to be a local drive for Google BigQuery with the latest Simba ODBC driver at least. This prevents centralized credentials management and defeats the purpose of DCM. I understand this might be a driver limitation, however it's still an issue that I think Alteryx could handle.
Suggestion: Since the key file is simple text (JSON) file, it could be embedded (i.e. uploaded via the DCM interface) into the connection itself. That way it can be centrally distributed to the local computers when the DCM connections are synchronized from the server (or vica versa). I would also store them encoded for Information security reasons.
Bonus: Tying into this it would be really good if Alteryx Desktop would automatically sync Server DCM connections when a connection is made to Alteryx server the first time after the software was launched (i.e. opening a Server workflow) to keep it automatically updated.
TLS certificate lifespans will be changing starting in 2026. Managing certificates manually will become a headache for many Alteryx Server administrators. Create a method to allow automated TLS certificate installation in Alteryx Server.
47-day SSL/TLS certificates will be the new standard in 2029
The newly approved measure, initially proposed by Apple and endorsed by Sectigo in January 2025, will gradually reduce certificate lifespans from the current 398 days to 47 days through a phased approach.
Ballot SC-081v3 formally passed on April 11th, 2025, putting the phased reduction into effect with the following enforcement dates:
March 15, 2026: Maximum certificate lifespan reduced to 200 days
March 15, 2027: Further reduction to 100 days
March 15, 2029: Final enforcement of the 47-day maximum lifespan

Want to have mark all as read button for this.

During a recent project, I explored the Alteryx Server Download a Workflow Package API Endpoint, which includes an optional versionId parameter. The documentation suggests that this parameter should allow users to retrieve specific, prior versions of a workflow package by supplying the appropriate version ID. However, in practice, I found that regardless of which valid prior version ID was provided, the API always returned the current published version of the workflow.
This behavior presented a challenge for our automation use case, where we aimed to implement version control and retrieval solely through Alteryx Server, rather than relying on external tools like Git. After thorough testing and validation, I shared these findings with Zach Hamilton and Marty Moravec at Inspire 2025, who were able to confirm the behavior.
I appreciate the continued enhancements and support the Alteryx team provides for the Server platform and its APIs. Resolving this issue would greatly benefit users who depend on robust version management and automation capabilities within Alteryx Server. Thank you for considering this feedback, and I look forward to future improvements in this area.
For admins to be able to prioritize workflows, because by default, users are not allowed to prioritize jobs.
In combination with Quality of Service (3 - Critical Priority and above) and worker tagging, for example we have all workflows belonging to a project tagged to a specific worker, but since "Member" (default) users cannot prioritize jobs, these workflows would never run on this specific worker
Automatic Deletion of Logs files from Engine, Service and Gallery Folders for on perm servers
I think file explorer or management related to workflow in the server should be able to be seen, linked and reffered to so that much more creative way to check and use them in the server via multiple workflow can be realized.
