On the server product you have the ability to set up timeouts to avoid server resources being hogged by any one canvas.
Currently this setting only applies to scheduled canvasses - however this leaves a gap where users can just run this manually.
Please can you extend this setting to also cover manually initiated jobs too?
@SeanAdams you should know better..... 🤣
I am sure an admin can move it though!
This shouldn't need to be an idea. It sounds more like a defect.
This is expected behaviour and not a defect.
It is listed in our help page:
If you believe the behaviour should be different it would be an idea and then a feature request coming back.
I am with you though, I think it should apply across all jobs, or ideally a setting for each, one for scheduled and another for manual.
Fair point @JoeS - I did mean to log this in the server ideas area, but clearly put it in the wrong board.
It was only said in jest 😁
As above though, I do think we need a setting to cover ad-hoc jobs.
This would be a good feature to include and number of ideas have been posted on this topic so clearly there is a demand.
We also have the same requirement like all the manual jobs running on server should be auto cancel if they exceed particular time frame.
As I can see this idea already has been approved state so Is there any update ? Is it already implemented or on which Alteryx server version this functionality will be going to be enabled ?.
