Thanks for another great idea. This idea is one of the most requested items for Server. This concept will be one of the first enhancements to our Server product in 2018. We plan to provide more flexibility with user roles and remove the concept of locking a person to one studio at a time.

Our development team has been working away at this request and this functionality should actually be available in a near future release! As such I'm updating this idea to Coming Soon and we'll update the status again once the release containing this feature is available for download.

@MPohlers We are close to a release in which will have the ability to create custom Server-managed groups where you can assign a group role that can apply to all users in the group. After this we hope to add functionality to be able to assign those custom user groups to collections, as we do today with AD groups in a following release. We're almost there!
