Hello All,
Planning to Setup a DR server which will be a copy of our production server.
Both production server and DR server will be on 2 different location/data center.
Both servers will not be up and running at same time.
in case production Data Center goes down, we will bring up the DR Data Center.
so, my question is do i need separate license for this DR server setup or can use the existing license
The DR server will be copy of production and will be copying mongo db in a weekly basis from Production to DR
Thanks, in Adv ..
Hi @ArnabB
You should ask fulfillment@alteryx.com. They will give you the definitive answer.
In my experience however, Alteryx is very flexible with these kinds of arrangements. Since you only have one server running at a time, there should be no problem. In the event of a DR event, you'll have to log into the Alteryx licensing portal and deactivate the license from your main server. This will allow you to assign the license to the DR server

Hi @ArnabB ,
I agree with @danilang . It is worth talking to the Account Executive responsible for your company`s account and see what they can do or if using the same license is against their policies.
There is a license called Alteryx Server for High Availability that costs the same as the sandbox license, so even if you have to purchase one, it wouldn`t be as expensive as your regular license.
