Using Directory Tool in Gallery on Sharedrive / Workaround

Question

Trying to use the Directory Tool on Gallery on a sharedrive but understand this tool may not be allowed on Gallery due to security issues. Is there a workaround? I am trying to check to see the last modified date on the input files as a data validation. Any ideas? Thanks!

I m new to Alteryx and still not sure how to do server vs. Gallery. But I found this in dependencies. Is it somehow putting the online path to a temp folder as well on my machine? I was trying to read how to take it off safe mode which seems to be the problem but still uncertain.

Hi @DataIsMyFriend,

Have you clicked "OK" and tried running the workflow from your Alteryx Server?  We get the same error when uploading workflows to our Alteryx Server that reference a shared drive.  This error is due to our Alteryx Server not having credentials to our shared drives.  However, when the workflow is run on our Alteryx Server it uses the credentials of the person running the workflow and not the server so it runs correctly.  If yours does not run correctly, you may need configuration changes made to your Alteryx Server setup, which would be done by your server admin.  I hope this helps!
