Should I make an AD group for the member role?

I am running Alteryx Server 2019.4 with Gallery using active directory. I have AD groups for Curator, Artisan, and Viewer and have made respective Gallery groups as well. Should I make a group for Member?

Member is a role that appears to be standalone like the others. I cannot see it from the menus in user and group management. Is it because a user at whatever role assumes the member role only when added to a subscription? Does that make the idea of a member AD group nonsensical? Do the answers to these questions change in Server 2020.1?

Other articles in the Gallery and Server documentation haven't clarified this well enough from the functionality standpoint and also from a best practices standpoint.

As of 2020.1, Collections have been simplified and Members can run workflows that have been shared with them via a collection. Viewers however can run workflows shared on the Home Page of the gallery. See here: https://help.alteryx.com/20201/server/user-management#user-roles

So, I would say Yes, as you will probably have Members on your Gallery.

my gallery will definitely have members. I feel like you haven't touched on my questions enough. Should I make a member group and assign it that role in Gallery? If yes, why?

Ah, I've answered as if already on 2020.1... If using the Permissions tab in Gallery Admin (which disappears in 2020.1), then it does not make sense to use an AD Group as you can't assign in anywhere.
