Reading locale file in gallery

I created an analytic app that allows users to enter file path on their local folder. I hope the app could read from users' locale file and generate corresponding reports. What I did is using 'dynamic input' and it works fine on my desktop. But every time it runs on the gallery, it shows 'File not found' error. 

Could anyone tell me if it's possible to read from locale file in gallery? If it is possible, what do I need to configure?

Is there a shared network drive that the gallery has access to that the users have access to (e.g. S:\)?

BTW, do you also know if I want the user to select files in a shared folder using 'dropdown'. Is there a way to achieve that?
