PCXML output: Enable file-format icons

This really looks quite rudimentary and I hope it is not already covered in another topic.

I've read the The Gallery: Composer File Type for Multiple Output Options and replicated the very easy steps.

However the interface I get does not involve the user-friendly file-format icons. Instead it shows a drop-down menu for file formats.

How can our private gallery show it as in the abovementioned thread? (image shown below)

Bonus question: If my output is just a single excel, can I somehow skip the file-format drop-down selection so that user clicks once to download the report?

That post is from an old version. Unfortunately, newer versions display with the drop down. Not a very good user experience in my opinion. I too much preferred the old UI.
