File browse in gallery duplicating the number of sheets in excel file

I have an app that's in gallery it's using a file browse tool so that the user can select the excel file to be used in the workflow. The excel file we are using has 11 sheets (tabs). But when the user selects this file in the file browse inside gallery, it presents the same sheet twice with a "$" as a suffix for the sheet name that is duplicated:

So instead of the user seeing only 11 worksheets, he is seeing 22. This can cause some confusion.. 

 

I would like to understand why that happens and if there is a way to fix it.
