good afternoon
we are planning a move from on-premises to azure for alteryxServer.
there will be no change in the set up, configuration for either the windows servers or alteryxServer.
there is a question which I cant get my head around and that is "do we need to involve fulfillment of the change of location / address when we do the move?" the "old" server will be switched off entirely before the new one is started for the first time but I am not sure if the licence monitoring at the Alteryx Fulfillment end of things can cater for this.
I have experience of moving lock stock and barrel to azure before but that was done with a new, separate licence
any help would be gratefully received

So this should not be an issue in terms of your license - it's probably fine to tell them you are doing the move. In the old days they would then try to sell you on a consultant with "lots of expertise in this area" - and they may still do this.
hi there
i had a quick email exchange with fulfillment and they let me know that i just need to deactivate on the on-premises box then re-activate on the azure box.
a word of caution for anyone doing the same switch - doing the deactivation "will cancel all scheduled workflows" . so there is a bit of prep to do both before and reinstatement after. sadly for us the jobs are still set up on legacy scheduler and will take ages compared to gallery !!!!
thanks to you @apathetichell
