DCM question

Hi,

***We are still on 2022.1, so this is a bit of a dated question for some)***

We have just started using DCMs for SharePoint, OneDrive and Databricks connections and we have a few workflows going onto server with said connections.

How do we refresh connections on Server so that we are not pulling each one down individually into Designer, refreshing DCM and republishing it?

While annoying now, it will become extremely problematic once we have more than a handful of production level workflows out there.

We are experimenting with bringing workflows down and republishing and even that is giving us issues, so i think there are some steps that we might be missing.

Thanks

Hi @DanielG ,

I`m not entirely sure what is going on there, but due to a version mismatch, I cannot test on my server.

The one thing I know about DCM in early versions is that the sync is not automatic, so whenever you change anything on your designer, you need to go to Manage Connections and sync it back with your server.

Hopefully this helps.

Best,

@fmvizcaino -- thanks,  It does seem to be a very manual process to maintain these in 2022.1

I have been pushing our Alteryx "owners" to get up to date on this, since version 2022.1 is out of support since May,,,  🤐

Yes, definitely! There are some excellent features that you would benefit from.

  1. Control containers: Workflow orchestration
  2. Better DCM: Able to share connections with designer users, automatic sync
  3. Missing macros: Option to fix workflows with missing macros
  4. Better Server UI: Revamped server UI - cleaner and lighter
  5. New formula functions

These are the ones I recall. Hopefully, this can help you convince the Alteryx owners there.

Best,
