Application Server - Service Accounts

Can one application server (aka a gallery) have access to multiple service accounts? I don't see a way to switch between service account credentials without a password. Thank you.

You can set up Data Credentials in the Gallery Admin section and then share those out to users. Other than that, you wouldn't be able to set up multiple as you can only have one "Run-As" user.

However I think to set up the Data Credentials, you would require a password for the credential, which may be what you're referring to.

If you are referring to the account that runs Alteryx Service in the server -  Yes, you can use a system account which is different from the local system account (with which you have opened the server/the account in which Alteryx is installed). But you have to provide the password. (Task Manager -> Open Services -> Right click on Alteryx Service -> properties -> Log on -> Log on as : This account - > provide service account name and password.

Tried adding a new service account to the Alteryx service and get the error: The Alteryx Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

We are going to try and add the service account to the Windows administration or power users group and try again, thinking the account has no rights on the server and may not be allowed to have access to the service.
