We are a team of 10 people and we use Alteryx on Azure box. We want to upgrade Alteryx from 11.5 to 18.3.
Do we need to upgrade Alteryx server or just the designer will be good to go?

You will need to download and install the Alteryx 2018.3 Server version. This will update all the required components to your Server instance. Also, I suggest right clicking the installer and choosing "Run as Administrator" when installing, it's just a little extra bump in permissions to make sure everything installs properly.

Thanks for your fast response Paul. What I want to know is since I am not going to use Scheduling and gallery components, Isn't it better to install just the designer rather than the whole server instance on my Virtual Machine?.
Thank in advance.

Alteryx Designer and Server products are licensed based on operating system. So if you're using Windows Server OS you will want to install the Alteryx Server product, as Alteryx Designer won't run on a Server OS. Same for Desktop, you won't want to install Alteryx Server (which looks for Server OS) on a Windows Desktop OS.
