Can you clarify what you mean by "Alteryx server is running"? Technically, that is the expectation for the Alteryx server (AlteryxService.exe is the background service).
If you're referring to that a job is continually running, but don't see anything active in the scheduler/Queue window, what is leading you to believe this is the case?

When viewing your servers scheduled workflows you have to connect to the controller that the server is using. This can be found in the system settings on the server.
