Hi Team,
Let me explain we have 6 node environment out of which 5 is acting as a worker alone and 1 machine is operating as the Gallery + controller.
Previously, all of our server machines had the Alteryx Windows service set to automatic, meaning that it would start and run automatically whenever the server was rebooted. However, our infrastructure team has requested that we change the configuration to manual. This is because they perform reboots and make OS-level changes on the console, and it is not feasible for them to do it in a sequential manner. We would like to know if we can configure the Alteryx service to manual instead of automatic to make any issues. Additionally, if Alteryx has a built-in functionality to self-heal when something goes wrong, similar to what we have in Tableau Server. In Tableau Server, if any process goes down, the application automatically corrects it and restarts the process.
Regards,
Ariharan Rengasamy
We have 4 virtual servers 1 UI, 1 Controller and 2 workers. Infrastructure manages reboots after patching, etc. Alteryx Service is set to start Automatically. We've had maybe two issues with server reboots in 4 years so, I have no complaints. We manage Alteryx service stop and start when we upgrade and follow the order that Alteryx lists.
