Alteryx Server license and CPU number

we have now 1 CPU for Alteryx Server (but we have license for two CPUs).

If we increase number of CPU for Alteryx Server machine to 2 physical/4 logical CPUs, will license be valid? I mean that Alteryx Server license is linked to hardware. Does adding CPUs mean that we have new machine(hardware) or no?

Hello. this is not what I really meant.

My question was - if I add more CPU to Server, does it mean new hardware for Alteryx Server?

Yes, Alteryx Server re-evaluates the machine it is running on from time to time for licensing purposes

Also yes! Alteryx Server counts the number of physical CPUs your machine has, not the vCPU or logical core count. So it sounds like up until now, you've been running at half the power your license allows 😉
