Alteryx Server License getting Expired

Hi,

This is about our Alteryx Server license which is getting expired this month. I have read of some possible options of getting a new license for keep our flows run and schedules intact.

Just wanted to have some leads on the option of renewing it with a Desktop Scheduler option. Since our alteryx machine is in cloud, it will always be running and all our flows are scheduled on that machine only.

Will it be fine in this case, if we go ahead and purchase the Desktop Designer and Scheduler license? What is the present costing for the same? Is there any restriction if multiple users try to work on the cloud machine and work on editing the workflows?

Looking for help regarding the above queries.

Thanks.

Hi @GauravRawal; you should note that the scheduler license is a named user license and should be seen as an 'add on' to designer.

Only one single user is allowed to create workflows and schedule workflows using a scheduler license (if you want many people to be able to then each individual would need a scheduler license and their own machine).

I believe scheduler licenses are only supposed to be used on non-server OS machines too, so they should sit on your local machines and thus you either have to leave your laptop on all the time so that schedules run.

Hi @BenMoss,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Considering it's a cloud machine, if we assign a single person to develop and schedule the workflow while buy separate designer licenses for rest of the team members to be able to make modifications to the workflow(not scheduling), would the Desktop Scheduler work fine?

Please note that we don't have any other worker instance using the present server instance and we are not using and predictive or spatial components.

Thanks.

I think that would break the EULA as they are contributing to the development of the workflows which are being scheduled.

Really you need to reach out to Alteryx directly to discuss this.
