Alteryx Server Credential Set up Failed - Invalid User Name & Password

Hi,

I am trying to set up a credential in a Alteryx Server environment so it can be used as a run as account.

I follow the instructions on this link here: Link

  1. Select Start on the Windows taskbar.
  2. In Search, enter gpedit.msc or local group policy.
  3. In the Local Group Policy Editor window, select Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > User Rights Assignment.
  4. Select Log on as a batch job.
  5. In Log on as a batch job Properties, select Add User or Group.
  6. Complete the required information to add the user or group.
  7. Select OK and Apply.

I applied the above steps, and it give me invalid user name and password and I don't know why.

This is not the first time I did this, I am have set up two servers with the similar set up before this and I am able to add my id onto the credential page of the Alteryx Server admin and use this as Run As ID.  And by the way, if I apply the ID I used in the previous two server onto this server, it works. It's just particular ID I am unable to add to Credentials and set up as Run As ID.

So it seems this is a ID-specific issue.

I don't really know what is issue behind this.

I made sure this ID does exists, I searched in the Windows AD, it does exist.

I don't really know the IT technicality behind this.

If someone can explain to me what could cause this, I could go back to our IT and ask them to do a check on this particular ID.

right now since I don't know exactly how it works, I can't explain further to our IT team.

Thanks!!
