Alteryx Credentials to Entra ID

Question

Hello --

Quick question here. If Alteryx security was originally set up with username and password from within Alteryx, and we decide to move to Entra ID (formally Azuure AD) what happens when a user who was set up with Alteryx credentials logs in after the cutover.

Will Alteryx realize its the same user based on email or will it create a new entry and require security roles to be set up again (access to collections)?

Remember that changing the authentication method is not supported and may lead to errors. https://help.alteryx.com/20214/en/server/configure/configure-alteryx-server-authentication.html#idm45478719706288

Having said that, until previous releases, I knew it was possible to move from built-in to SAML with no issues since both use e-mail as one of the keys. So I don`t think you will experience any issues with the security roles, but I advise you to double-check with Alteryx support to see if that similarity between SAML and built-in is still there.
