ROI Calculator

We are working with an industry leading RPA platform, and they have a very helpful feature built in where the platform keeps track of the ROI from usage of the product.

 

It feels like this is a very useful capability to have within Alteryx - we can base this on some simple assumptions, and if we make this part of the heads-up monitoring capability for the platform we can then avoid (or answer) all those questions about justifying the cost of the Alteryx licensing.

Thanks @SeanAdams I like this idea.  Are there some usage metrics that would help determine ROI?  What are some things that highlight a good return in your mind?  Some things that come to mind for me are number of users over a given time, average length of sessions logged in, number of jobs run, number of apps published and/or shared.  Even without a specific ROI dashboard or tracking mechanism built into the product - are there ways we can think about highlighting usage on the platform to help easily determine the ROI that I'm missing?  Any other thoughts you have certainly help!

Assuming this question is for Alteryx Server.

 

For us it would definitely include: number of users, number of jobs, number of jobs/user (identify heavy users), and number of records/files output per job.  We have replaced a number of multi-hour/day projects where the number of reports/records was a significant factor in the length of time it took to do the project whereas there is little impact in the runtime/session length in Alteryx.

 

In addition, it would be useful to see how that was affecting the server: number of queued instances/time, average runtime/app, average number of concurrent sessions, etc.

Can we revisit this idea now that their is centralized telemetry? This could even make for a great community admin utility.
