A wildcard input for the Amazon S3 Download Tool

Hello,

Please enable wildcard ability for the Amazon S3 Download Tool.

Add this to the "Object Name" field in configurations.

The current workaround is to use a macro to iterate over the filenames matching a pattern.

Adding this ability in the connector would remove the need for a macro.

Thank you.

Dennis

 HI Dennis,

With your current workaround, do you have the example macro that you created to iterate over the finames matching the pattern from s3?

My workaround is to have the s3 download folder synced to a local directory where I then leverage the directory tool to set the wildcard match in the file specfication, however that's workaround isn't going to work for the long term as the amount of files keep on increasing as we move forward in time.

Thanks

Eric

Thanks Eric!

AWS sync command is a great idea.

It works for me and is better than my macro.

The S3 wildcard would still be handy, remove that extra sync step.

Let's see if the Alteryx team adds it.
