Simba Oracle Driver gives Error 126

Error: The setup routines for the Simba Oracle ODBC Driver ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126. The specified module could not be found. OracleODBC_sb64.dll

• Simba Oracle ODBC Client 1.4.10 (Jul 09, 2021  Simba Oracle ODBC 1.4.10.msi)

After installation of the Simba Oracle ODBC Client from the Alteryx download site, it cannot be configured or used as an error is thrown by the ODBC Data Source Administrator.

Cause

The Simba Oracle ODBC Client 1.4.10 driver provided on the Alteryx downloads page is the driver only, it also has prerequisites that must be fulfilled.

Resolution

Install the following supporting products onto the system alongside the driver.  Where a 64bit driver has been used, the supporting products must also be 64bit.
1.  Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015-2019. Download and run the installation packages available at

2.  Oracle Instant Client 19. These library files must be installed in the \lib subfolder in the driver's installation directory.

3.  Extract the contents of the Basic Light Package into the driver lib directory e.g.  C:\Program Files\Simba Oracle ODBC Driver\lib\
