GCSE-857: Error "Unable to find the dll: "AlteryxBasePluginsEngine.dll"" in workflows containing a Python-based Connector and a Table Tool

Issue

When you run a workflow that contains a Python-based Connector and a Table Tool you receive the following error message:
 

Unable to find the dll: "AlteryxBasePluginsEngine.dll

The error occurs when run on Gallery and during validation when saving to the gallery.

Also, when the workflow is scheduled in Desktop Scheduler with AMP enabled.

Environment Details

 

• Alteryx Designer, Server:
  • Designer and Server 2022.1.1.25127
  • Designer with Desktop Automation 2021.4.2
• Sharepoint Input Tool version 2.1.0
• Salesforce Input version 4.0.0 and 4.2.4

Cause

Defect: GCSE-857
Status: Open.

Diagnosis

• The error occurs only when run on Gallery and during validation when saving to the gallery. The workflow works just fine on Designer on the Server
• Error occurs only when the workflow is scheduled in Desktop Scheduler with AMP enabled. When scheduled with AMP disabled, it also works. When run in Designer, the workflow also works.
• File "AlteryxBasePluginsEngine.dll"  exists in C:\Program Files\Alteryx\bin\Plugins 

 

Resolution

Defect GCSE-857 is target for resolution in future release.
 

Workaround

In the System PATH environment variable add entry C:\Program Files\Alteryx\bin\Plugins and move it  to the very top of the list. 
Close Designer. Restart Alteryx services.
