Error: “Method not found: 'Void AlteryxGuiToolkit.Dialogs.Licensing.ManageLicenses.ShowLicensingDialog(System.Windows.Forms.Control, Boolean, Boolean)'”

 

Environment Details

 

Error received when selecting Options > Advanced Options > System Settings:

 

Method not found: 'Void AlteryxGuiToolkit.Dialogs.Licensing.ManageLicenses.ShowLicensingDialog(System.Windows.Forms.Control, Boolean, Boolean)'

• Alteryx Designer and Server
  • 2021.3 (likely all versions)

 

Cause

Files from the previous version 2021.1, did not uninstall when upgrading to 2021.3.
 

 

 

Resolution

A complete manual uninstall (as described in the following article) removed all files from both versions.  A reinstall of 2021.3 worked as expected.
