Error: "An unexpected error occurred" when performing an Offline License Activation in Designer

Description


After upgrading to 2021.3 and activating a license while offline and clicking the Create request button, a screen prompts to save the .req file. Clicking the Save button causes the following error to occur:
 

An unexpected error occurred, and the usual means of describing the problem have also failed.
Contact your license administrator for help with licensing.

Cause


Defect in 2021.3.1 prevents the creation of the request file for offline license activation.

Resolution


This defect has been fixed in version 2021.3.2 and newer versions. If intending to use version 2021.3, please download and install the latest release of version 2021.3 from our Licensing & Downloads portal .
