Submission GuidelinesHello,
After used the new "Image Recognition Tool" a few days, I think you could improve it :
> by adding the dimensional constraints in front of each of the pre-trained models,
> by adding a true tool to divide the training data correctly (in order to have an equivalent number of images for each of the labels)
> at least, allow the tool to use black & white images (I wanted to test it on the MNIST, but the tool tells me that it necessarily needs RGB images) ?
Question : do you in the future allow the user to choose between CPU or GPU usage ?
In any case, thank you again for this new tool, it is certainly perfectible, but very simple to use, and I sincerely think that it will allow a greater number of people to understand the many use cases made possible thanks to image recognition.
Thank you again

Thank you again.

At our Customer we are using SAP HANA as our main database. in the moment we can only use the ODBC Client to connect against SAP HANA. In this scenario it is only possible to establish a connection with Username and Password. It would be very good if every Alteryx Designer user can connect via SSO to the HANA Database. It would be perfect to have this as standard feature and not through an add-on.
Hi there,
Elastic is used quite widely as a search database due to the high velocity and scale capability.
Could you please consider adding this as a data-source for Alteryx? Elastic is fully REST API integrated, so this should not be too tough.
Thank you

Hi all
Its about the Download tool for SSL API Connections.
In serveral environments (especially for testing) it is not possible to install the Server and client certificates correctly. It would be helpful to have an "Insecure" option in the download tool to activate the following curl option:
-k, --insecure
(TLS) By default, every SSL connection curl makes is verified to be secure. This option allows curl to proceed and operate even for server connections otherwise considered insecure.
The detour over the RUN command is very complicated.
Many thanks
Steffen
There is no way to natively connect to Xero. We also cannot use the download tool to connect to the API as it requires an OAuth2 Bearer Token generation step. Documentation for Xero can be found here: https://developer.xero.com/documentation/
I would request a tool similar to the Salesforce Input tool to be created.
Suggested process:
I would also request that this tool be developed so that it can run on Server and Analytics Hub so that we can run end to end automation.
The Data Sources page currently lists all the different data sources that Alteryx supports - however for an administrator it's almost impossible to ensure that their designer users have the drivers for these, or are on the right version.
As an early step - can we add 1 more field to this list which points to the downloader for the driver where applicable
https://help.alteryx.com/current/DataSources/SupportedDataSources.htm
The next step is to create a bundled driver pack that Admins can download once to cover all the relevant drivers needed for the data sources provided & supported.

It would be nice if AWS Glue had first class support in Alteryx. This would allow Alteryx to more seamlessly connect to data sources defined in the Glue metastore catalog. That alone would be handy and save on extra book-keeping. AWS Glue also has an ETL language for executing workflows on a managed Spark cluster, paying only for use. Integrating this big data tool with Alteyrx would be interesting as a way to execute in-database Spark workflows without the extra overhead of cluster management or Alteyrx connectivity
I know there's the download but have a look at that topic, the easiest solution so far is to use an external API with import.io.
I'm coming from the excel world where you input a url in Powerquery, it scans the page, identify the tables in it, ask you which one you want to retrieve and get it for you. This takes a copy and paste and 2 clics.
Wouldn't it be gfreat to have something similar in Altery?
Now if it also supported authentication you'd be my heroes 😉
Thanks

Can the inputs to app interface tools update other interface tools within the same app? Right now, I believe the only way to do this is with chained-apps, but I don't wish to go that route again.
Just one example:
Can a Dropdown interface tool update a listbox interface tool with an action?
Right now, I have two interface tools in an app:
For the Listbox tool , it references an external source file for the NAME:VALUE pairs, let's call this file: Category1.yxdb.
I would like for the resulting dropdown selection to update this external source file to say, Category1.yxdb or Category2.yxdb or Category3.yxdb, etc.
The different .yxdb files here have different name:value pairs within them.
It doesn't seem like this possible at the moment, but please let me know if this is something that's currently supported within Alteryx.
Thanks,
Collin
I need to be able to connect to Salesforce CampaignInfluence object which is only available through API v37 or later. Currently, the Salesforce Connectors of the REST API is on v36 whereas the latest version is v41 (about a year gap between v36 and v41). I was told that there was no immediate plan to update the default connector to the latest version. It would be nice to have visibility on objects available on the newer versions.
Hi, I'm currently feeding about 4,000 URLs into the Download tool. Some of these may be old websites that are no longer hosted. As the records get passed, if the process runs into one of these (random, 1 in a 100 chance), the whole thing stops executing and errors out.
It would be fantastic if I could just tell it to skip any records that error out, instead of having the whole thing error out because of one dud website. I don't know which ones are duds until I pass them through the tool, so there's no way to filter them out upstream. Real Catch 22 here!
I have a coworker who's going to tackle this in Python instead, and he says he can put in a "try, except block" into his code. His words, not mine, and I know nothing about python code...but given what I know about Alteryx, there must be a way to build this into the tool!
Thanks!
Please could we add Qubole to supported data sources,
It is possible to connect to Qubole via ODBC Connection
However, this error message is often returned on a query: InboundNamedPipe GetOverlappedResult: The pipe has been ended
I've been advised by Alteryx Support that this is likely due to the ODBC driver.
If it's possible to add Qubole to supported data sources it would save a lot of time committed to troubleshooting this error.
All the best
A connector tool for the GSuit API that would enable us to import email contents, attachments, and other Google apps data into Alteryx.
At the moment, we use ODBC driver to connect with Dremio. However, we have experienced that this connection fail when connect with Tableau until a native connector has been built.
Do you think Alteryx can work with Dremio on building a connector for stable connection? Thank you.
It would be interesting to have the ability to change the orientation of a tool container separate from the orientation of the workflow. For example having a vertical tool container within a horizontal workflow will help keep the workflow short enough to view on one page. Also it would look alot better to collapse and expand vertically in a horizontal workflow.
When utilizing the alteryx 'publish to tableau server' tool, only the name of the folder (project name) is visible for selection of where to publish the .hyper file on the tableau server. When there are multiple folders with the same name under different parent folders, i.e. a 'weekly updates' folder under North America parent, a weekly updates folder under South America parent, etc... there is no way to differentiate between the 'weekly updates' folders in the tableau publish tool.
In this case, you essentially have to publish test files to all the folders and write the results on a piece of paper for future reference.
This request is to enable the navigation, or at least view, of a hierarchical folder structure within the 'publish to tableau server' tool.
We regularly copy and paste SQL code from MS SQL Server Management Studio into the SQL Editor in the Input Data tool in Alteryx Designer. We normally format our code using tabs for indentation to make it clear and easier to read. However, these tabs trigger an error similar to: "Error opening table: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0: Incorrect syntax near 'FROM'.\42000 = 102".
This code runs perfectly in Managment Studio. When I delete the tabs, the code works, but is much more difficult to read. It is generally standard in SQL editors that tab characters are considered "white space," along with spaces and CRLF.
Please allow tabs in the SQL Editor.
Alteryx should allow its users to easily connect to datasources that they need for their work. On post COVID-19 world, the use of virtual services/tools is increasing and more data is being generated on those platforms. Alteryx users are then getting requests to analyze the data to advise business on their performance on these platforms.
To name a few, here are platforms that are on focus of some business now:
Zoom
Youtube
Facebook (and Facebook Live)
All these platforms offer some sort of API solution to connect to business data. However the process to get all pieces together in Alteryx to put our hands in the data is daunting. For users that do not have a strong background in programing it is even worse.
Alteryx needs to catch up and provide standard connectors to these services. Connecting to ODBC databases is not enough anymore.
Thanks
I periodically consume data from state governments that is available via an ESRI ArcGIS Server REST endpoint. Specifically, a FeatureServer class.
For example: http://staging.geodata.md.gov/appdata/rest/services/ChildCarePrograms/MD_ChildCareHomesAndCenters/Fe...
Currently, I have to import the data via ArcMap or ArcCatalog and then export it to a datatype that Alteryx supports.
It would be nice to access this data directly from within Alteryx.
Thanks!
