Publish from Alteryx to Tableau Server - Leave the tde as an Extract and Not Live.

When I publish using the tabcmd publish command in an event or using the Publish to Tableau Server Macro, the extract becomes LIVE. I do not want it to become LIVE, because when it does, I cannot refresh the extract using the tabcmd refreshextracts command or setup a refresh schedule in Tableau Server. Is there anyway to make this tde stay an extract after Alteryx rewrites the file? When the extract is live it will not refresh until I manually select Refresh in Tableau Server when I am in the Workbook that is connected to the data source I am publishing.

I posted the above question and was told this would be good to add to the New Idea module. Thanks!

When we publish a hyper file to Tableau Server (TS), Tableau Server considers this a live connection (even though, confusingly, it's an extract). Thus, our users cannot download their workbooks hosted on TS as a packaged workbook (twbx), as packaged workbooks cannot use live connections. The link below suggests a work-around (publish locally then use tabcmd), but we'd really rather go directly from Alteryx to Tableau Server.

The status of this idea has been changed to 'Inactive'. This status indicates that:

I would like to second this idea, 

if we can publish .hyper or .tde with extract status instead of live, it will enable a more visible data refreshed time from within tableau software. when the published extract is live the visibility is gone.
