@jpoz Was this supposed to be implemented in 2019.3.2.15763? The release notes say "There are new hotkey shortcuts for deleting or cutting a tool and connecting to the next tool in the workflow." I also see the shortcuts on the help site:

However, when I try to use Shift + Delete or Control + Shift + X, nothing is happening.

@patrick_digan This is actually coming in a future release. It shouldn't be in the release notes for 2019.3.

Thank you for suggesting this! In the 2019.4 release (https://downloads.alteryx.com), you can hold Shift while deleting (Shift+Delete) and cutting (Shift+Ctrl+X) a tool to enable the 'connect around' behavior for these operations. If you right click on a tool you will see these options displayed in the context menu as well.

The following shortcut would be nice:

after selecting two tools by mouse plus shift I would like to press a shortcut so that both tools are connected.

For the sake of directions you could implement that the first tool selected will use the tool's output to connect to the input of the second tool selected.

Or you can implement a shortcut to "select a group of tools" first and then select the second group of tools. After this one could press another shortcut to connect these two group of tools by first/second direction idea above.

Thx

Since I still use 2019.3 I selected all tools and opened the "view all possible connection" context manager to see what else would be possible. Then the following idea came to my mind: I think another good way to connect tools would be to be able to drag and drop tools in that interface between the different sides "output connection" and "input connections".

Also: Please implement in this context manager a select all/deselect all box.

Best regards
