Ability to execute tools in parallel within the same workflow

Tools within a workflow needs to be able to run in parallel whereever applicable.

For example: Extracting 10 million rows from one source, 12 million rows from a different source to perform blending.

currently the order of execution is the order in which tools are dragged into the canvas. Hence Source1 first, Source2 second and then the JOIN.

Here Source1 & Source2 are completely independent, hence can be run in parallel. Thus saving the workflow execution time.

Execution time is quite crucial when you have tight data loading window.

Hopefully alteryx considers this in the next release!

There are trial licenses available for use with the Beta programs from the Beta site linked above.

Are there any updates on how the beta testing is going? Is there an estimate on when this feature will be launched to all users?

Hi @akihirokomatsu

We cannot supply a date, but you can join in the new 2020.1 Beta Program here: https://betaprogram.alteryx.com/key/alteryxanalyticsbeta20201

As we get closer to a GA release, we will communicate which release it can be expected in.

Hi @TonyaS,

I requested access to the 2020.1 beta program several weeks ago and have not heard back. Is this something you can help with?

Thank you,

Ryan

AMP Engine went out to GA with the 2020.2 Release version.

There is a checkbox to "Use AMP Engine" under the Workflow - Configuration - Runtime settings to set it for an individual workflow run.

There will also additionally be a User Setting to allow a user to build and save every new workflow with AMP Engine already enabled in a future release.
