output formatting

Hello,

Is there a way to have the output put I am writing through the output tool bold, in italic, colored or underlined?

I have a template which I would like to overwrite every sheet of it each time with a new set of records.

cheers

Hi,

The easiest way would be creating a template in excel and keep it original formating.

There is a great post about it:

https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Knowledge-Base/How-do-I-output-to-an-Excel-templat...

There are also reporting tools available which will allow you to format the data. Please see a brief example in the link below:

Please tell me what is your current use case and I will guide you more.

Hi @TonyMu

This link @Emil_Kos  mentions does not seem to be applicable in xlsx files (because there is no "Delete Data and Append" option at xlsx type file.)

I also tried again but could not it.

This approach with the Blob tool will work with xlsx files as well.

@TonyMu
Since the recent version of Alteryx, we have the option of preserving the formatting.
But then your highlight certain rows of data will not be possible.
