configuring tools

I have a problem with configuring tools, whenever I click on a tool for configuration, nothing comes up on the screen for configuration. Can Someone help me with this ?

Check if you have accidently turned off the Configuration window display?

I'm fairly new to Alteryx, but find I'm picking it up really quick.  I, too, have recently run into this same issue where I'll build a workflow and add the Filter tool to my canvas but the configuration does not appear.  I can click on any other tool on my canvas and the configuration will come up in the window, but not for the Filter tool.  

The only solve for this that I've found is to find the latest .exe file in my downloads and reinstall Alteryx Designer on my desktop.  Once the installation completes, the Filter tool works again.  

I'm currently using Alteryx Admin Designer, version 2021.3.3.63061
